Welcome to my website.
I am a journalist, author and broadcaster best known nowadays, perhaps, for writing about the British royal family – something I have been doing on and off for thirty-five years. My last book was about Prince Harry published in 2014, and I am currently working on a biography of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, which will be published in July 2017; and a book about Princess Basma bint Talal of Jordan.
But royal biography is not all that I’ve done, nor all that I do now.
I started out in the early 1970’s as a print journalist. Over the years I have written for most national newspapers and a wide variety of magazines both in the UK and abroad. In the 1980’s, I began writing biography alongside the journalism and at the same time became a regular television presenter – something I enjoyed for nearly two decades – working principally on consumer affairs, health and travel. And in addition to my royal books, I’ve written, amongst others, about an actor, two British Prime Ministers and my newspaper-editor father. I’ve also ghostwritten autobiographies for Sir Cliff Richard, Pattie Boyd, and Shaun Ellis, the man who lived with wolves.
